Israeli colonists raze large tract of land northwest of Salfit

SALFIT, March 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Wednesday razed large tracts of Palestinian-owned land in Khallet Hassan,  west of Biddya town, located to the northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Salfit, according to Salfit Governorate.

The Governorate said that colonists, escorting bulldozers, broke into the area of Khallet Hassan, where the heavy machinery leveled approximately 70 dunums of land, destroying 80 olive and almond trees, stone retaining walls, and a water well.

It added that the area has been for several years a target of attacks by colonists who together with the occupying forces deny farmers access to it.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
