Day 31 of Israeli aggression: Tulkarm remains under military escalation

TULKARM, March 11, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 44th consecutive day, and on the Nour Shams camp for the 31st day, amidst a military escalation that includes intensive reinforcements, a tight siege, and extensive raids on homes.

WAFA correspondent said that the occupation forces sent military reinforcements towards the city and its two camps, and deployed infantry squads in the camps' neighborhoods and surroundings, amidst the firing of live ammunition and sound bombs to terrorize people.

She added that the occupation forces, with their heavy machinery and bulldozers, reinforced their military presence in front of the houses they seize on Nablus Street, which connects the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps, and turned them into military outposts, and set up mobile checkpoints to restrict the movement of citizens.

During the night hours, the occupation forces tightened the measures on Nablus Street, where they intercepted passing vehicles, stopped them, searched them, checked the IDs of their passengers, detained a number of them, especially young men, abused them, and investigated them in the field. But no detentions were reported, however.

The occupation forces escalated the military operations in Tulkarm camp, where they intensified their foot patrols in all its neighborhoods, including Al-Murabba’a and Al-Khidmat neighborhoods, amidst extensive raids on homes and shops after removing their doors, blowing them up, and vandalizing their contents, while firing bullets randomly.

The camp is suffering from widespread and comprehensive destruction of its infrastructure, in addition to the homes that were completely and partially demolished, vandalized, and burned, while the occupation forces turned the remaining homes into military barracks, which increased the suffering of the residents in light of the ongoing aggression.

In Nour Shams camp, the occupation forces continue their tight siege on it, accompanied by extensive raids on homes, and deliberately destroyed their contents after searching them, and subjecting their residents to interrogation under threat.

They also continue to transform the home of local resident Adnan Al-Malik in Jabal Al-Nasr area in Nour Shams camp into a military barracks, where they seized it completely, and forced its owner to provide the soldiers with water.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces did not only control the house, but also stole beds from neighboring houses to use them for sleeping inside, and installed surveillance cameras on the house, in a move to impose strict control over the camp.

Local sources reported hearing the sounds of heavy gunfire inside the camp, while the occupation forces fired flares intensively over Jabal Al-Nasr neighborhood during the night hours, coinciding with the destruction inflicted by their bulldozers on the infrastructure and the complete demolition of homes in Al-Manshiya neighborhood, which affected more than 28 homes as part of their plan to pave roads and change the geographical features of the camp.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces raided a number of homes in the employee housing neighborhood in the Iktaba suburb east of Tulkarm city, specifically opposite Nour Shams camp, searched them, destroyed their contents, and subjected their residents to field investigation for hours.

The ongoing aggression on the city and its camps resulted in the martyrdom of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant, in addition to the injury and detention of dozens, and the forced displacement of more than 9,000 people from Nour Shams camp, and 12,000 from Tulkarm camp.
