BRUSSELS, March 9, 2025 (WAFA) – The European Union welcomed the Arab Recovery and Reconstruction Plan adopted by the emergency Arab Summit in Cairo.

The Union added in a statement today that this plan represents a serious basis for discussions on the future of the Gaza Strip and the Union will discuss these ideas with its Arab partners.

It stressed the need for any plan for the future of Gaza to provide reliable solutions for reconstruction, governance and security, and that recovery and reconstruction efforts should be based on a solid political and security framework acceptable to both Palestinians and Israelis, which provides peace and security for both sides.

The statement stressed that the European Union will continue its political and financial support to the Palestinian Authority and its reform program, to help it prepare for its return to governing Gaza.
