GENEVA, March 3, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk Monday voiced his alarm over Israel’s military practices in the occupied West Bank.
“In the West Bank, I am alarmed by the use of military weapons and tactics, including tanks and airstrikes, against Palestinians; the destruction and emptying of refugee camps; the expansion of illegal settlements; the severe restrictions on movement; and the displacement of tens of thousands of people,” Türk said before the 58th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
He stressed that “Israel’s unilateral actions and threats of annexation in the West Bank, in violation of international law, must stop.”
