Colonists steal 15 sheep from Bedouin community north of Jericho

JERICHO, February 28, 2025 (WAFA) – A group of Israeli colonists stole 15 sheep this morning from the Bedouin community of Shalal al-Auja, located north of Jericho in the occupied West Bank.

Hassan Mleihat, the general supervisor of the Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, told WAFA that the stolen sheep belonged to Palestinian citizen Hussein Dawood Rashayda.

In recent weeks, Israeli colonists have escalated their attacks on shepherds in the region. These attacks include physical assaults, forced displacement from grazing areas, sheep theft, and the imposition of financial penalties.

Last month alone, colonists carried out 375 attacks, with most incidents occurring in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate (105 attacks), followed by Nablus (76), Hebron (55), and Qalqilya (31).
