UN Human Rights Office condemns Israeli military aggression in the West Bank

NEW YORK, February 15, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Office for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories has condemned the escalating Israeli military aggression in the northern West Bank, calling for the immediate cessation of this dangerous wave of violence and forced displacement.

In a statement issued today, the office reported that Israeli forces have killed 44 Palestinians, including five children and two women, since the start of the aggression on January 21, 2025. The attack has targeted the provinces of Jenin, Tulkarm, Tubas, and four refugee camps in these areas: Jenin, Tulkarm, Nour Shams, and Al-Far'a.

The statement pointed out that these actions are part of a growing pattern of illegal use of force by Israel in the West Bank. It further expressed concern over an unprecedented level of mass displacement in the occupied territory, with nearly 40,000 Palestinians forced to flee their homes.

According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), these displacement levels have not been seen in the West Bank for decades.
