Israeli forces raid, close headquarters of Palestine Red Crescent Society in Tulkarem

TULKAREM, February 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces raided and closed on Sunday evening the headquarters of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) near Thabit Thabit Government Hospital in central Tulkarem, in the northern occupied West Bank, according to PRCS sources.

Sources within PRCS reported that Israeli soldiers detained staff members inside the premises, barred field teams from accessing the site and locked the doors, effectively halting their ability to perform their essential humanitarian duties.

Earlier, Israeli forces attacked the Red Crescent's Disaster Risk Management team while they were attempting to evacuate two elderly women, one of whom has limited mobility, from Tulkarem refugee camp. Despite the evacuation being pre-coordinated as part of a humanitarian mission, the forces obstructed their efforts.

Additionally, two staff members were detained while carrying out their duties in the al-Muqata'a neighborhood of the camp.

The Israeli occupation forces continued today to impose a siege on Thabit Thabit Government Hospital and Al-Israa Specialist Hospital, obstructing the movement of ambulances and medical personnel and subjecting them to extensive field inspections and interrogations, thereby disrupting vital medical services.
