Colonists set fire to mosque in Arab al-Mleihat community near Jericho

JERICHO, February 2, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists set fire to a mosque in the Arab al-Mleihat community, northwest of Jericho, early Sunday morning, completely destroying the building, according to local sources.

Hassan Mleihat, the general supervisor of the local Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, told WAFA that a group of colonists poured a flammable substance inside the mosque before setting it ablaze.

The fire resulted in the total destruction of the mosque. In addition, the attackers also torched a nearby agricultural tractor.

This attack is part of a series of ongoing colonist assaults aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinian residents and seizing their homes and property.

No immediate reports of casualties were available, but the attack has once again intensified concerns over the safety of Palestinian communities in the area.
