NABLUS, January 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian vehicles today on the road connecting the cities of Nablus and Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, causing widespread fear and disruption, according to local sources.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli colonists ambushed vehicles near the Zaatara military checkpoint, forcing Palestinian drivers to stop. They proceeded to spray the vehicles with pepper gas. No injuries have been reported so far.
The Palestinian Authority’s Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has reported that Israeli colonists committed over 2,971 violations against Palestinians and their property throughout 2024. These actions resulted in the killing of 10 Palestinian citizens.
The commission also highlighted that the colonists set fire to 373 properties and fields across the Nablus, Ramallah, Jenin, and Tulkarm districts. In addition, they uprooted or damaged 14,212 trees, including 10,459 olive trees, which are crucial to the livelihoods of Palestinian farmers.
These attacks are part of a broader pattern of violence and intimidation by Israeli colonists, which often targets Palestinian civilians, their homes, and agricultural lands. The consistent rise in settler violence is part of an ongoing strategy to displace Palestinians and expand Israeli settlement activities in the occupied West Bank.
