BETHLEHEM, January 5, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists continued their attacks on olive trees in the town of Battir, west of Bethlehem, for the second consecutive day, according to local sources.
Omar Al-Qaisi, a local anti-colonization, informed WAFA that colonists cut down 12 olive trees on Sunday in an area known as Taff Abdullah on the outskirts of the village. The land belongs to his brother Ibrahim. The colonists also destroyed the barbed wire fencing surrounding the property.
Al-Qaisi added that on Saturday, colonists cut down six olive trees and an apple tree in the same location. This marks the fourth time that colonists have attacked the lands owned by him and his brother, targeting their trees.
The repeated incidents highlight the challenges faced by Palestinian landowners in areas affected by colonial Israeli settlement activity.
