Renewed colonists’ attacks under the protection of Israeli army in occupied West Bank

RAMALLAH, January 3, 2025 (WAFA) - Colonists, under the protection of the Israeli army, have escalated their attacks on Palestinians and their properties across the West Bank, with multiple attacks reported on Friday in Ramallah and Nablus.

In Ramallah, colonists targeted on Friday the outskirts of the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of the city. Local sources reported that colonists, protected by Israeli soldiers, attacked agricultural lands in the eastern plain area. Palestinian residents confronted the colonists, leading to confrontations.

Colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, also destroyed tents and sheep pens belonging to a Palestinian citizen in the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah.

In Nablus, a similar attack took place in the village of Salim, east of the city. Early on Friday, a group of colonists, under Israeli military protection, attacked homes in the northern part of Salim. Palestinian residents attempted to confront the attack, leading to confrontations, during which Israeli soldiers fired sound bombs and tear gas canisters toward residents and their homes, however, no injuries were reported.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their properties has dramatically increased since the onset of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7th, 2023.

The indiscriminate violence by Israeli colonists against Palestinian civilians and their properties has been widely condemned.

Several countries have imposed sanctions against Israeli colonists accused of committing acts of violence against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.
