SALFIT, January 1, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces escalated their restrictions in the Salfit Governorate, in the central West Bank, this evening by closing the entrances to several villages and towns with iron gates and military checkpoints, while also raiding the town of Kifl Haris, located in the northern part of the governorate.
According to local sources, the occupation forces sealed off the iron gates at the entrances of Salfit city, the town of Kifl Haris, and the village of Haris. Additionally, a military checkpoint was set up at the entrance to the town of Deir Istiya, blocking residents from entering or leaving the area.
Witnesses reported that Israeli forces stormed Kifl Haris before closing its main gate. Shop owners were forced to shut down their businesses, and residents were barred from moving freely. The measures were reportedly implemented to secure the entry of Israeli colonists into the town to perform Talmudic rituals at Islamic shrines located there.
