Geneva, December 30, 2024 (WAFA) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said the obliteration of the health care system in northern Gaza puts civilians at an unacceptably grave risk of going without lifesaving care.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in a statement, reiterated its urgent call for the respect and protection of medical facilities in line with international humanitarian law. “This protection is a legal obligation and a moral imperative to preserve human life.”

The International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization had previously warned about the deteriorating health and humanitarian conditions in northern Gaza due to the ongoing Israeli aggression, which has halted rescue and ambulance services and obstructed the entry of food, water and medical supplies.
