Israeli colonists torch tent south of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, December 7, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Saturday evening torched a tent in al-Minya village, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to a local source.

Zayed Kawazbeh, head of al-Minya Village Council, said that four colonists set a tent belonging to a villager in the wilderness of al-Minya on fire.

He added that colonists have recently stepped up their attacks against the villagers and their property, torching crops and seizing equipment.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

There are over 700,000 Israeli colonists living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
