India reaffirms support for Palestine on International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

NEW DELHI, November 29, 2024 (WAFA) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed India's strong commitment to a two-state solution, which envisions the establishment of a sovereign and viable Palestinian state. 

In a message marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Modi expressed India's continued support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the country's unwavering partnership in helping achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

India, Modi noted, has consistently stood alongside Palestine, contributing to initiatives and projects in diverse sectors based on the priorities and needs of the Palestinian people. He said this support will remain steadfast, as India continues to advocate for the realization of a just and lasting peace in the region.

The Indian Prime Minister also highlighted the tragic toll the ongoing conflict has taken, leading to significant loss of life and immense suffering for the Palestinian people and the broader West Asia region. 

He conveyed India's deep concern over the current security and humanitarian situation, emphasizing the urgent need for a ceasefire and the provision of sustainable humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
