RAMALLAH, November 14, 2024 (WAFA) – Palestinian villagers Thursday evening managed to fend off an attack by Israeli colonists on the outskirts of al-Mughayyir village, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources.
They said that Israeli colonists attacked several young men, all villagers of al-Mughayyir, while the latter were hiking near an agricultural shed on the outskirts of the western part of the village, triggering confrontations.
They added that the young men managed to repel the attack, forcing the colonists to flee the scene without being able to set the shed on fire.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
