JENIN, October 24, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Thursday, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, attacked olive pickers in Khirbet Meriha near the town of Ya'bad, south of Jenin.
The mayor of Ya'bad, Amjad Atatreh, said that a number of armed colonists attacked the farmers and provoked them in an attempt to prevent them from picking olives.
He added that the colonists of Mabod and Than colony, built on the lands of the town of Ya'bad, have been repeatedly attacking olive pickers in Khirbet Meriha for about 20 days.
The olive picking season in the West Bank this year has seen repeated attacks by Israeli colonists and occupation forces, such as burning and cutting down olive trees, stealing the crop, and preventing farmers from reaching their lands.
