RAMALLAH, October 8, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Tuesday evening attacked the Umm Safa village, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to a local municipal source.

Head of the Village Council, Marwan Sabbah, said that colonists mounted an attack on the outskirts of the village, hurling stones at the villagers’ houses and setting tracts of land adjacent to the houses on fire.

He added that Israeli colonists and occupation forces have proceeded with colonizing the villagers’ land by razing agricultural land and setting up mobile homes to serve as the nucleus of new colonial settlement outposts even though the villages own title deeds proving that they own the land.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
