Massive protests across the U.S. mark one year of Israeli aggression against Palestinians

WASHINGTON DC, October 6, 2024 (WAFA) — Large-scale protests erupted across major U.S. cities over the weekend, marking one year since the onset of the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people.

Demonstrations took place simultaneously in cities such as New York, Rochester, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, and Dallas, reflecting widespread discontent with ongoing Israeli military attacks in Gaza.

Since November of last year, the Israeli onslaught has resulted in over 41,000 Palestinians killed and 95,000 others injured, alongside extensive destruction of Gaza's infrastructure.

Human rights, humanitarian, and community organizations supportive of the Palestinian cause participated actively in the protests. A notable gathering occurred outside the White House in Washington, where activists urged President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to implement an arms embargo on Israel to halt the atrocities against innocent civilians.

In a related demonstration in Raleigh, North Carolina—recently affected by Hurricane Helene—protesters called for reallocation of funds intended for aid to Israel to assist victims of the natural disaster instead.
