Colonists set fire to agricultural house, barn west of Salfit

SALFIT, Tuesday, August 20, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists at dawn set fire to an agricultural house and a barn in the town of Zawiya, west of Salfit.

The owner of the house, Abdul Aziz Samih Shaqir, said that a group of Israeli colonists broke into the Khallet Hamad area, where they set a barn and agricultural house on fire.

The targeted structures were built on about 40 dunams of land and owned by Abdul Aziz and his siblings.

Shaqir said that the barn occupies an area of 120-square meters and there is a water well, solar panels, and agricultural equipment, all of which were burned and vandalized by the colonists, in addition to personal belongings in the three-room agricultural house where the family lives.

Shaqir pointed out that the fire affected four old olive trees and a number of chickens that he owns.

In turn, the mayor of Zawiya, Anis Shaqir, affirmed that the attack on the area was carried out under the protection of the occupation soldiers and that the town is exposed to continuous attacks by colonists.
