Israeli colonists torch Palestinian cultivated land west of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, Saturday, August 10, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Saturday evening torched Palestinian cultivated land in the Ni'lin town, west of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources.

They said that colonists mounted an attack against the town, setting a tract of cultivated land and a vehicle on fire and stealing agricultural equipment.

They added that the occupation forces stormed the town and opened fire towards the local residents who attempted to fend off the attack, triggering confrontations.

There was no immediate information about any casualties.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
