Israeli colonists set fire to olive-planted lands west of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 25, 2024 (WAFA) - Israeli colonists set fire this afternoon to extensive agricultural lands in the vicinity of Rantis village, west of Ramallah, causing significant damage to olive tree plantations.

Majid Khalaf, the head of Rantis village council, reported that a group of colonists from the Hilltop Youth gang ignited the fire in olive orchards north of the village.

Several trees were engulfed in flames before local residents managed to extinguish the blaze with the assistance of a fire brigade from the nearby town of Ni'lin, dispatched by the Palestinian Civil Defense.

Khalaf further disclosed that a similar attack occurred yesterday, targeting another olive grove west of the village. He pointed out that the colonists launch their assaults from a newly established settlement outpost in the hills surrounding the village.
