LONDON, Wednesday, July 24, 2024 (WAFA) – Supporters of Palestine closed off the entrance to the British Foreign Office today, demanding an immediate halt to arms sales to Israel and transparency regarding the legal justifications for continued sales.
According to reports from several British newspapers, demonstrators identifying themselves as "Workers for Free Palestine" gathered at the statue of Thomas Cook on The Mall, in front of Buckingham Palace, before proceeding to the Foreign Office.
The protesters, who persisted despite heightened security measures by the police, called upon the newly elected British government to cease arms sales to Israel.
They directly addressed Foreign Secretary David Lammy, emphasizing the urgency of ending arms exports to the Israeli occupation amid the continued genocide in Gaza.
