HEBRON, Sunday, July 14, 2024 (WAFA) – This morning, Israeli colonists placed three mobile homes in the Rakeez area of Massafer Yatta region, south of Hebron, further encroaching on Palestinian lands in the region.
The move aims to expand the nearby Avigal colonial settlement, according to local sources.
Since October 7, 2023, settler violence has surged, with 1,334 attacks recorded in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, leading to the killing of seven Palestinians this year alone.
Additionally, since the beginning of 2024, Israeli authorities have considered 83 plans for settlement expansion or new settlements, with 39 proposals in the West Bank and 44 in Jerusalem. During this period, colonists have established 17 new outposts, primarily for agricultural use, in various governorates, including Ramallah, Nablus, Bethlehem, and Hebron.
The Israeli authorities have also legalized 11 outposts in the West Bank, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, raising concerns over the future of Palestinian communities and land in the area.
