Malaysia calls for immediate international action against Israeli atrocities in Gaza

KUALA LAMPUR, Sunday, July 14, 2024 (WAFA) – Malaysia has urged the international community to take urgent and decisive action to end the appalling violations committed by Israel and hold its leaders accountable for the crimes against humanity.

In a statement, Malaysia condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza, including the deadly attack yesterday on the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis, which resulted in the loss of numerous innocent Palestinian lives, including women and children, and left hundreds injured.

"This heinous and horrific attack, which occurred within an area designated by Israel itself as a safe zone for Palestinians, represents a blatant disregard for all human life and is in violation of international law, humanitarian law, and international human rights law," Malaysian Foreign Ministry stated.

Malaysia reaffirmed its solidarity with Palestine and condemned the continued aggression and brutality, emphasizing that such ongoing violence contradicts UN Security Council Resolution 2735 (2024), which calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities, protection of civilians, and unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza.

Yesterday, Israeli forces committed a massacre in the Al-Mawasi area south of Khan Younis, resulting in the murder of 90 civilians, half of whom were children and women, and injuring 300 others.
