Germany: Killing displaced people inside schools in Gaza is unacceptable

BERLIN, Wednesday, July 10, 2024 (WAFA) – The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly denounced the Israeli military's bombing of schools sheltering Palestinian refugees in Gaza, labeling it as "unacceptable."

The statement, published on the ministry's official account on X, came in the aftermath of the Israeli army's massacre at the Al-Awdah School in the town of Abasan, southern Gaza, which left 53 innocent civilians killed and dozens injured.

"The killing of displaced residents seeking refuge in Gaza's schools is utterly unacceptable. Civilians, especially children, should not be placed on the front lines of conflict," the statement read.

The statement also called on Israel to cease attacks on schools and emphasized the urgent need for an investigation into the bombing of the Al-Awdah school as soon as possible.
