Colonists set fire to agricultural lands in northeast of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, Saturday, July 6, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists set fire today to agricultural lands in the town of Turmus Aya, located northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian security sources.

The sources informed WAFA that colonists ignited fires that engulfed dozens of dunums planted with olive trees in the plains of Turmusaya, along the road linking the town with the neighboring village of Al-Mughayir.

For months, Israeli colonists have forcibly prevented local Palestinian citizens from accessing their own lands in the vicinity of the town, leading to overgrowth of weeds in the olive groves. This overgrowth contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.
