Minor sustains injury from Israeli army gunfire in Nablus-governorate village

NABLUS, Tuesday, July 02, 2024 (WAFA) – A Palestinian minor Tuesday evening sustained an injury from Israeli army gunfire in the village of Salem, east of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources.

They said that Israeli occupation forces stormed the village, triggering confrontations.

The soldiers opened barrages of live ammunition, stun grenades and tear gas canisters towards local youths, injuring a 16-year-old by a live round in the foot.

The casualty was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
