Israeli colonists throw waste into stream in Jericho

JERICHO, Monday, July 1 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists threw today waste into the stream of Al-Auja Spring, north of the city of Jericho, to deprive citizens of potable water.

Colonists dumped waste into the stream of the Al-Auja Spring, with the aim of polluting it and depriving Palestinians of benefiting from it and taking a walk in its vicinity, the general supervisor of the Al-Baidar organization for defending the rights of the Bedouins, Hassan Mlihat, told WAFA.

Mlihat added that the occupation police issued malicious tickets today to agricultural tractor drivers from the Bedouins of the surrounding communities, who came to obtain water by filling their tanks for the purposes of drinking and watering their livestock.

He pointed out that dumping waste and placing it in spring water poses a threat to the health of citizens in the short and long term, and an imminent environmental danger.

Mlihat stressed that this act violates the laws of the World Health Organization and international humanitarian law.
