UN official says Israel's bombing of Gaza hampers work of relief agencies

AMMAN, Sunday, June 30, 2024 (WAFA) – Chris Sidoti, member of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, said that there are more than 37 million tons of rubble due to the Israeli bombing of housing in the Gaza Strip, which hampers the work of international relief agencies in light of the urgent need for food, water and medical services in Gaza.

According to the organization's official website, Sidoti confirmed today that there is a strong Israeli insistence on imposing many restrictions in light of these dangerous circumstances, including preventing the entry of aid and underscoring the significant risks facing the support teams.

He explained that the Israeli occupation authorities largely prevent granting permits to medical teams and institutions concerned with human rights and international organizations to bring food, water and medical services to hospitals in Gaza.
