RAMALLAH, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities today officially announced their intention to seize Hebron's central vegetable market and a parking lot in the Old City of Hebron, in the south of the West Bank.

Hebron's municipality said in a statement that Israeli forces yesterday delivered a military order to seize Hebron`s central vegetable market and to add new floors to the existing buildings in the market.

In conjunction with this step which violates the authority of Hebron's municipality and all international treaties, the occupation forces continued to announce their intention to build inside the Osama school and its surroundings. 

The municipality affirmed its rejection and denunciation of this step, which contains a real threat to the municipality to deprive it of its authority over various sites seized by the occupation forces for the benefit of colonial expansion.

The municipality stressed that it will continue its legal fight and follow up on all files and issues until it proves its ownership of the properties.

The municipality said that it has been exerting all efforts to mobilize international pressure on the occupation through the consuls and embassies of the countries sponsoring the peace agreements and treaties, to stop this piracy and attacks on Palestinians and their proprieties.

The municipality appealed to the international community and all its institutions to promptly and urgently intervene to stop the ongoing violations and attacks on the municipal property and residents.
