JERUSALEM, Monday, June 24, 2024 (WAFA) - Israeli forces this evening carried out a large-scale military incursion into the town of ‘Anata, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, leading to confrontations, according to witnesses.
Witnesses said that at least 10 Israeli military vehicles broke into the town this evening following a strict army siege imposed on multiple villages located in the northern and eastern parts of Jerusalem since the noon hours today.
Confrontations broke out following the military incursion, leading to several injuries. Israeli forces attacked residents’ homes with live and rubber-coated steel bullets, injuring dozens.
According to eyewitnesses, the occupation forces further detained a resident, whose identity remains unknown, following a raid into his family home in the center of Anata town.
Israeli forces also deployed their troops across the town and at its southern and northern entrances.
The Israeli military checkpoint at the entrance of the nearby Shufa’at camp remains blocked by the military forces.
