TULKAREM, Wednesday, June 19, 2024 (WAFA) – The heavy firing of flash bombs by Israeli forces in northern Tulkarem city caused the fire to break out, burning Palestinian-owned greenhouses and crops.
Local farmer Ahmed Yaqoub told WAFA that the occupation forces manning the checkpoint of the separation barrier west of the Shweika suburb of Tulkarem, fired a barrage of flash bombs toward the agricultural area, causing fire to break out in greenhouses and crops located adjacent to the wall.
He added that the fire engulfed all the farm equipment, including electric motors, water networks, and chemicals used in agriculture, among others.
In addition, the fire caused significant damage to the surrounding area.
The land owner, Yaqoub, said the occupation forces frequently break into agricultural lands in the said area, in an attempt to tighten the noose on residents.
