Israeli forces detain Palestinian, injure another northeast of Nablus

TUBAS, Sunday, June 16, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Sunday morning detained a Palestinian and injured another in the Far’a refugee camp, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local and medical sources.

They said that Israeli special forces sneaked their way into the refugee camp and the nearby city of Tubas before military reinforcements arrived at the camp, sparking confrontations with Palestinians.

Snipers were deployed on rooftops and they raided a building of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in the camp, using it as a military sniping outpost.

Sources from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that a youth sustained an injury from the shrapnel of bullets fired by the occupation forces, and was rushed to Tubas Turkish Government Hospital for treatment.

The soldiers detained a Palestinian in the course of the raid into the camp.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
