Three Palestinians killed in an Israeli offensive in Qabatiya

JENIN, Thursday, June 13, 2024 (WAFA) — Three Palestinian youths were killed this evening by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Qabatiya, north of the occupied West Bank, according to local and medical sources.

Earlier in the day, Israeli forces had stormed the town, besieged a house, and bombarded it with shoulder-fired missiles before a military bulldozer began demolishing it, killing two Palestinian individuals inside. The two are yet to be identified.

This Israeli onslaught also led to violent confrontations in the area, during which the Israeli forces heavily fired live ammunition at the house and at passers-by.

A circulating footage showed an Israeli army bulldozer desecrating the body of one of the fallen, removing the dead body from inside the besieged house with a bulldozer in an extremely humiliating manner.

Kamel Abu al-Rob, the governor of Jenin, informed WAFA that the Israeli occupation army withheld the bodies of two of the three martyrs.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its teams in Jenin transported a third Palestinian killed by Israeli troops in Qabatiya to the hospital. Fawaz Hamad, the director of Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin, identified the victim as Qais Mohammed Zakarneh, a 21-year-old youth who had been shot in the head.

Additionally, during the confrontations in Qabatiya, a fourth young man sustained injuries from live ammunition shrapnel in his back, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

Since the onset of the all-out Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7, 2023, a total of 544 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem. Among the martyrs were 133 children.
