HEBRON, Wednesday, June 12, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today detained five Palestinians from the occupied West Bank districts of Hebron and Jenin, according to local sources.
They said that the occupation forces rounded up four Palestinians, including three brothers, from the Ifqeiqis locality, southwest of Hebron.
The occupation forces barged their way into the locality to prevent the residents from fending off a colonists’ attack, and brutally assaulted them.
The army raid came after armed colonists descended upon their houses and opened live ammunition towards the family house of one of the detainees.
Meanwhile, the occupation forces manning al-Karama border crossing, between the occupied West Bank and Jordan, detained a resident of Meithalun, a town to the south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, as he was on his way to Jordan.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
