NABLUS, Thursday, June 06, 2024 (WAFA) – Palestinian Civil Defence (PCD) crews Thursday evening extinguished the fire resulting from an Israeli arson attack in the town of Beit Dajan, east of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
PCD crews rushed to Beit Dajan to extinguish the blaze started by Israeli colonists to the town residents lands and had the blaze control, protecting hundreds of trees, greenhouses and crops.
PCD said that while its crews were responding to the arson, they were attacked by stones thrown by the colonists, resulting in the injury of a crew in the waist.
Earlier today, Israeli colonist militias set fire to olive and wheat fields in the town, causing significant damage to farmers’ livelihoods.
They also beat up a 24-year-old young man, inflicting multiple wounds across his body. The casualty was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Colonist violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli occupation authorities.
Colonist violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
