Dua Lipa calls for end of Israel's genocide in Gaza

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, May 29, 2027 (WAFA) - English and Albanian singer and songwriter Dua Lipa has called for solidarity with Palestine and Palestinians over the most recent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip.

In a story she shared on Instagram, she said “burning children alive can never be justified," addressing the deadly Israeli attack on tents of displaced Palestinians in Rafah, south of the Strip, which killed at least 45 civilians and injured hundreds.

"The whole world is mobilising to stop the Israeli genocide. Please show your solidarity with Gaza," she added.

The "New Rules" singer, 28, called for a ceasefire in Gaza in January.

She was was born in London to parents from Kosovo, but then moved back to the country after it declared independence in 2008.

Lipa said that that background influenced her views on the current conflict in Gaza.

"From my experience of being in Kosovo and understanding what war does, no one really wants to leave their home," she wrote in January.

"They do it for protection, to save their family, to look after the people around them, that kind of thing, for a better life. So I feel close to it.”

On May 26, at least 45 Palestinian civilians were killed and others were injured, mostly children and women, in the Israeli occupation's bombardment of the tents of displaced people northwest of the city of Rafah.

Medical sources said that at least 45 citizens were killed, and others were injured after the occupation forces targeted, with at least eight missiles, the tents of people sheltering in a displacement camp that was recently established near the warehouses of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), northwest of Rafah.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed that its crews transported a large number of bodies and injured after the occupation targeted the tents of the displaced in Rafah.

PRCS confirmed that the people who were inside the tents, mostly children and women, were burnt alive.

The targeted area, which is crowded with thousands of displaced persons, was previously declared as a safe zone by the occupation.
