NABLUS, Thursday, May 23, 2024 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists set ablaze agricultural fields today in the village of Beit Dajan, located east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
The head of the Beit Dajan Village Council, Tawfiq Haj Mohammed, reported that colonists ignited the fires in the eastern part of the village's farmland.
Villagers are currently attempting to extinguish the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to additional fields, he added.
Beit Dajan is surrounded by several colonial Israeli settlements and outposts that have seized thousands of dunums of its land. In addition to the nearby Israeli military camp, the village frequently suffers from attacks by Israeli occupation forces and colonists.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence faced by Palestinians living in areas close to the colonial Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, who continue to defend their land amidst ongoing Israeli threats of displacement.
