OSLO, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 (WAFA) - Norway's Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide warned Israel that if the International Criminal Court (ICC) issues an arrest warrant for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his army minister, Yoav Gallant, his country would be obliged to arrest them should they arrive in Norway.
In a press interview, Eide said It was up to the ICC to decide whether or not to issue an arrest warrant. If arrest warrants are issued, all signatory countries must act accordingly, he stressed.
The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, announced yesterday, Monday, that he is seeking to issue arrest warrants against senior Israeli leaders for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel in the occupied Palestinian Territory since October 7, 2023, including its ongoing bloody aggression on the Gaza Strip.
