NABLUS, Thursday, May 16, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Thursday evening attacked Palestinian vehicles near the Israeli Za'tara military checkpoint, south of the West Bank city of Nablus, according to eyewitnesses.
They said that scores of colonists gathered in the vicinity of the intermittently staffed checkpoint, separates the northern West Bank from the southern West Bank, and hurled stones at vehicles with Palestinian registration plates, causing damage to some of them.
Colonist violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonist violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
