Palestine Committee of Norway commemorates the 76th Nakba anniversary

OSLO, Monday, May 13, 2024 (WAFA) - The Palestine Committee of Norway commemorated today the 76th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba in the Norwegian capital Oslo, by organizing a national day under the slogan “Visit the West Bank”.

During the National Day activities, the suffering of the Palestinian people under the Israeli occupation was highlighted to inform the Norwegian society of the nature of Palestinian life and draw its attention to the genocidal war waged against Palestinians in Gaza.

Organizers also shed light on the occupations’ military checkpoints spread throughout Palestine, which led to restricting and preventing the freedom of movement of Palestinians and movement between various cities and regions.

The day included a huge demonstration that marched the streets of the city center, gathered in Workers’ Square, and headed to Jacob’s Church, during which participants raised Palestinian flags and banners calling for an end to the genocidal war against the Palestinian people.

They also called on the world and the Norwegian government to put an end to the practices of the Israeli occupation state.
