Palestinian Bedouin community forced to leave their homes due to colonists' attacks

JERICHO, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists today seized Bedouin homes in al-Mu'rajat area, northwest of the city of Jericho.

Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, said that a group of Israeli colonists, accompanied by their sheep, raided al-Mu'rajat area and dismantled shacks and houses.

Malihat pointed out that the residents of the area were forced to leave as a result of a sharp rise in almost daily attacks and violence by colonists against Palestinians and their proprieties.

Earlier today, colonists raided a Bedouin community near Khan al-Ahmar, seized tents and agricultural crops, and forced the residents of the community to leave.

Malihat said the displacement of the Bedouin community is a bad omen for other Bedouin communities across the occupied West Bank, who are exposed to a higher risk of displacement and ethnic cleansing as a result of settler attacks.
