Israeli forces' military offensive against Tulkarem camp continues

TULKAREM, Monday, May 6, 2024 (WAFA) – The occupation bulldozers continued this evening to destroy infrastructure in and around the streets and alleys of the Tulkarem refugee camp, vandalizing residents’ properties, isolating neighborhoods and causing electricity blackouts and internet outages.

The Israeli occupation forces continued this evening their assault on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for more than 17 hours, imposing a tight siege and blocking all entrances leading to its camp.

Forces deployed their soldiers throughout the camp’s streets and alleys and conducted large-scale raid and search campaigns against dozens of homes using police dogs, assaulting residents and terrorizing children and women.

Forces also stormed several homes in the camp and turned them into military observation posts after blowing up their front doors and forcing the inhabitants of each house inside one of the rooms.

Snipers were also stationed on the rooftops of several high-rise buildings.

Dozens of youths were detained during the offensive and subjected to interrogations after being handcuffed and blindfolded.

No confirmed data on the identities and number of youths detained during the offensive is available at the moment.

According to medical sources, the number of people injured during the ongoing offensive has reached three, including a critical gunshot injury to the head. One of the injured is a 14-year-old girl who sustained injuries in her shoulder after being attacked by the police dogs.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed that Israeli forces continue to ban its crews' access to the camp, confirming that it has been receiving calls from people who have been injured inside the camp.
