Gaza: Civilians killed in Israeli bombing on refugee camp

GAZA, Sunday, May 5, 2024 (WAFA) – A number of citizens were Sunday evening killed and injured in a bombing by Israeli warplanes on Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that the occupation warplanes targeted a school belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the camp, killing and injuring a number of citizens.

The same sources added that 18 citizens were killed in Israeli raids on various areas of the Gaza Strip since this morning.

Local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 7 has risen to 34,683 reported fatalities, with an additional 78,018 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

Meanwhile, ambulance and rescue teams are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to obstruct the movement of and ambulance and civil defense teams.
