Red Crescent retrieves remains of martyrs from rubble of Israeli-destroyed home in Tulkarm

TULKARM, Sunday, May 5, 2024 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced today that its teams managed to retrieve some of the remains of five Palestinians killed yesterday by Israeli occupation forces in the village of Deir al-Ghusun, in the occupied West Bank province of Tulkarm.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a press statement that the remains were retrieved from under the rubble of the house where the five were killed. The house was targeted and destroyed by Israeli missiles upon the heads of its occupants during the deadly Israeli military onslaught yesterday on the town.

PRCS clarified that its teams transported the retrieved remains of the martyrs to Thabet Governmental Hospital in the city of Tulkarm.

The five Palestinians were killed yesterday in an Israeli onslaught which lasted for 13 hours, during which Israeli soldiers showered the house with barrages of gunfire and shoulder-fired missiles until all those inside were killed. Salma Badran, the houseowner, managed to escape from the debris unharmed before being arrested and taken away by soldiers.

Later on, Palestinian medical and security sources announced that five young men who were inside the house were killed by the Israeli occupation forces. The bodies of four out of the five martyrs were taken away by the forces.
