BERLIN, Wednesday, April 24, 2024 (WAFA) – The German Foreign and Development Ministries said in a joint statement on Wednesday that Germany intends to resume cooperation with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza, after concluding UNRWA’s neutrality.
According to the German News Agency, the two ministries urged UNRWA to quickly implement the recommendations of the audit report, including strengthening internal control and strengthening external supervision of project management.
The two ministries explained, in a statement, that “in parallel with these reforms, the German Government will shortly resume its cooperation with UNRWA in Gaza, as countries including Australia, Canada, Sweden and Japan have already done."
