CAIRO, Monday, April 22, 2024 (WAFA) - Egypt called today for an international investigation after revealing mass graves and massacres committed by the Israeli occupation army in the courtyards of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed the need for immediate intervention by the international community to stop violations and conduct the necessary investigations to hold perpetrators accountable.
It is regrettable and disgraceful that international law and human values continue to be violated in the twenty-first century in full view of the world's countries, relevant international organizations and the UN Security Council, said the ministry.
The ministry condemned the repeated Israeli violations of the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip, which affect unarmed civilians, displaced persons and medical personnel.
It added that the killing, destruction and violence witnessed in the West Bank over the past weeks are no less dangerous and further aggravate the crisis and threaten to explode the situation in the entire occupied Palestinian territory.
The ministry stressed the necessity of putting an immediate end to the violence and attacks carried out by Israeli colonists under the protection of the occupation forces against Palestinian civilians, their property and homes in the West Bank.
