JENIN, Monday, April 22, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists, protected by Israeli army, prevented today Palestinian farmers from reaching their lands in the town of Kafr Rai, south of Jenin.
The mayor of Kafr Rai, Walid Yahya, said that a colonist seized about 40 dunums of land located between the village of Zabada and the town of Kafr Rai, and placed barbed wire around it, prevented farmers from entering it and forced them to leave the area at gunpoint.
Yahya added that the occupation forces monitor the area using a drone that monitors the movement of farmers, and if they enter their lands, the colonists come under the protection of the occupation forces and force them to leave the place.
A local civilian identified as Nidal Melhem said that the occupation forces and colonists have escalated their aggressive attacks against Palestinian farmers and shepherds for the past months, preventing them from entering their lands.
Melhem called on human rights and humanitarian institutions to intervene to put an end to the violations committed by Israeli forces and armed colonists against Palestinian people and their properties
