Colonists target Palestinian vehicles south and west of Nablus

NABLUS, Saturday, April 13, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Saturday evening targeted Palestinian vehicles south and west of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to eyewitnesses.

They said that a group of colonists hurled stones at vehicles with Palestinian registration plates close to at-Tanib junction, west of the city, and at the permanently-staffed ‘Awarta checkpoint, located on the intersection between Routes 5077 and 555, south of the city.

Meanwhile, colonists threw stones at Palestinian vehicles close to Jaba‘ village, northeast of Jerusalem.

Neither damage nor casualties were reported though.

In Bethlehem district, the head of Beit Iskaria Village Council, Mohammad Ibrahim, said that colonists launched an attack against Khallet al-Balluta locality close to the village, spreading panic among the villagers.

Colonist violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonist violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
